How does property mutation work in Pakistan?

Property mutation (Intiqal) is the process of updating the revenue records to reflect a change in ownership. After a property sale, inheritance, or gift, the new owner must apply for mutation at the Tehsil office. The Patwari verifies the transaction, and the Tehsildar approves the mutation.
