Under Islamic inheritance law (Faraid) applied in Pakistan through the Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Application Act 1962, daughters have a guaranteed right to inheritance. If the deceased has both sons and daughters, the son receives twice the share of a daughter (2:1 ratio). If only daughters exist, they collectively receive two-thirds of the estate. Denying daughters their inheritance is both illegal under Pakistani law and contrary to Quranic injunction (Surah An-Nisa 4:7). Legal action can be taken to enforce these rights.
