Ex-parte Decree

A court judgment issued when the defendant fails to appear despite being served with notice. Common in overseas Pakistani cases where the opposing party in Pakistan ignores court summons. An ex-parte decree can be set aside if the absent party shows sufficient cause within 30 days.
