NADRA — The Organisation
NADRA stands for National Database and Registration Authority. It is not a document — it is the Pakistani government agency that manages all citizen identity and civil registration records. NADRA was established under the NADRA Ordinance 2000 and is headquartered in Islamabad.

CNIC — Computerised National Identity Card

Converting Between CNIC and NICOP
If you move from Pakistan to abroad (or vice versa), you can convert your card:
- CNIC to NICOP: Apply at your nearest Pakistan Embassy with proof of overseas residence
- NICOP to CNIC: Apply at any NADRA office in Pakistan with proof of Pakistani residential address
